how do you prevent your nails from turning yellowish? they said to use a base coat first before applying nail polish, but when i used bobbie base coat, after a week when i removed my polish, my fingers were all yellowish. can you recommend any good base coat that is readily available in manila?
kittykoo, i use orly top 2 bottom – you can find it in sm department stores
polish with dark pigments are notorious for staining your nails so you might want to stay away from them while you’re waiting for your nails to go back to being white again
and Moi is right, lemon juice works.. some girls swear by whitening toothpaste too..
@kittykoo – Have tried Sally Hansen and it is ok. Now using Orly Bonder which is a rubberized base coat. There are lots of treatments available if you want to remove the stains from your nails. I also read about putting lemon juice on your nails to remove the stains but I haven’t tried yet.
@kittykoo: I found this nutrition coat from The Face Shop some days ago. It comes in a bottle and you apply it like polish too (though its consistency is a little runny-er than polish). You put it and let it sit for a while (I prefer to rub it on my nails a few minutes afterward). After that, you can wipe it off to remove the residue before you apply your base coat. It works for me.

hi kittykoo! do you mean the corrector pens? i haven’t seen any in the stores here..
will let you know if i find any but you might also want to make your own by wrapping a piece of cotton around an orange/wooden stick and dipping it in polish remover
this works even better than corrector pens, according to reviews..

I am a HUGE lover of this “3 free” brand so I thought I would share where I get mine. Of course, Amazon has some of the more popular colors listed at any given time.
