I found your blog (love it), and I’m hoping you can help me with bit of a dilemma that I’m having. I live in Los Angeles, and I’m attending my 1st cousin’s wedding in Manila in a few weeks.
In the fall/winter, I tend to lean towards a very dark shade of polish:
Opi: Black Cherry Chutney, Lincoln Park after Dark, You don’t know Jaques.
Essie: Wicked
All of these colors will look great with the outfit I have picked out, but my 70 year old mother is worried that my nails will be too dark for the wedding. As you can guess, she’s not a fan of my mani/pedis.
The wedding will be pretty conservative, with a ton of doctors, and lawyers, very Catholic. In fact, the bride specified no black, please for wedding attire.
What are the trends in Manila and other parts of the Philippines, and would it be appropriate to stick to what I like? Are Filippinos still ultra conservative when it comes to nail color? Thanks a bunch for your help!
