2013 was an exciting year for nail polish fans in the Philippines. A number of new brands hit our shores including Anny, a Germany-based nail polish brand offering a wide range of nail colors and nail care products.
I wasn’t able to make it to the launch at SM Aura but the kind people of Brio One Philippines, Anny’s official distributor, sent me this lovely package.
It was my first time to try Anny and this swatchfest did not disappoint. I like the formula, I like that the polish is self-leveling and a pleasure to apply and I like the variety of shades. The brush is wide and a breeze to use – all I needed to cover each nail were two swipes.
This is Icy Chocolate. This is a delicious-looking creme that reminds me of chocolate milk (To be specific, Magnolia Chocolait which I loved as a child. So sad that it doesn’t taste the same anymore. I will forever be envious of my friends Ver and Joel who live near Halo Farm in New Jersey – their chocolate milk tastes like the Magnolia Chocolait of my childhood, the one that used to come in those thick bottles. But enough digression, let’s go back to polish.). The formula was great, super easy to apply. I used two coats.
Cappuccino is also a creme and, as the name suggests, this one is the color of a creamy cup of coffee. Great formula too. I used two coats.
Be Glamorous is a rosy taupe shimmer with pretty bronze sparkle. Love this one too. Nice formula, easy application. I used two coats.
If Most Wanted looks familiar, it’s because it’s practically a dupe for Chanel Peridot. Careful application is needed for this greenish gold duochrome because this kind of finish is prone to showing brushstrokes. I used two coats.
Naturally, I wanted to see how this compares to Peridot.
They’re almost twins although Peridot is a tad shinier.
Hypnotic Nights is a vampy creme, a rich eggplant creme. Same great formula, I used two coats.
Jet Black is exactly that – a glossy jet black creme. Nice formula. I used two coats.
Love Touch is a bright red creme-jelly hybrid. It has a hint of orange that makes it even brighter. Application was easy and I used two coats. I still has visible nail lines after two coats but I didn’t mind. I’m sure three coats would have made them disappear.
I really enjoyed my first swatchfest and I’m excited to get to know this brand even more.
