The silence can be explained by one thing: I’ve been really sad. Sir Gani, the publisher of the newspaper, I work for passed away last Friday and I swear, it feels like I lost a family member. I’m still sad but I figured he wouldn’t want me to be moping around, he’d want me keep enjoying the things I am passionate about. And that includes this blog.
I swatched these last week and I figured it’s about time I posted about them.
You know all about Dior’s Anselm Reyle Collection – the brand’s collaboration with German artist Anselm Reyle. He created a collection of accessories that includes handbags, clutches, shoes, scarves and this fantastic polish set.
Originally, I just wanted three colors from the collection – Ultra Violet, Electric Blue and Pink Graffiti. I figured I should save my polish fund for the countless other colors I knew Dior was planning to release. But Petah My Polish Elf totally made the right call when he decided to get me the entire boxed set. I couldn’t believe I thought of breaking up this gorgeous collection.
There’s a box inside the gorgeous box.
And the second gorgeous box comes with a pretty purple ribbon.
Once you pull the ribbon, the box slides open to reveal the beauties inside.
When I say beauties, I am not kidding.
So pretty.
You rock, Anselm Reyle.
This is Pink Graffiti.
It’s a bright pink with secret shimmer.
On the nails it’s a pretty bright pink.
Crazy bright but not neon.
I love it.
It’s a really pretty pink.
Barbie and Elle Woods would go nuts for this color.
And you know what, I would too.
Fabulous formula.
I used two coats.
I don’t have a lot of Dior pinks but I thought I’d compare it to Dior Pink Kimono so you could see the difference.
As you can see, they’re very different.
They’re both pretty but I like the intensity of Pink Graffiti.
I also decided to bring out some of my pink Chanels for comparison.
No dupes here either.
This is Dior Electric Blue.
It’s a crazy bright blue.
And yes I love it too.
It’s almost blindingly bright.
But it’s not garish at all.
It’s just really pretty.
Really really pretty.
The formula was fantastic too.
I used two coats.
I pulled out my beloved blues from Chanel and Dior and discovered that nope, not a single one of them can compare to Electric Blue’s crazy brightness.
See?
This is Ultra Violet.
It’s an intense violet with secret shimmer.
I love this one too.
Sorry but I can’t stop gushing.
I love this collection so much.
Ultra Violet isn’t as bright as Pink Graffiti or Electric Blue but I still like it.
You know me and my deep love for purples.
Again, great formula.
I used two coats.
I brought out one Chanel and two Diors for comparison.
Chanel Rodeo Drive is too lilac, Dior Purple Mix is much too dusty, Dior Forget-Me-Not is too light.
So yeah, no dupes.
This is Dior Metallic Silver.
It’s a fantastic gunmetal silver foil.
I love this color.
This is one of the two shades I almost skipped.
I’m glad Petah knew better because I ended up loving this so much that I wore it after swatching.
I wore this color for a few days and it’s an attention-grabber, literally. People kept grabbing my hands to find out what I was wearing.
Again, beautiful formula.
I used two coats.
Love love love love.
There’s one reason I thought of not getting Metallic Silver anymore – Dior Silver Lake.
A number of people who own both shades say they’re practically the same and that if you own one, you don’t need the other. So of course I had to bring out Silver Lake to compare it with Metallic Silver.
That’s Metallic Silver on the left and Silver Lake on the right.
I don’t know if I’m crazy or imagining things but I did notice a very slight difference. I thought Metallic Silver was a tad more opaque and it was a tad darker. Just a tad. Silver Lake also looks more silvery while Metallic Silver looks more charcoal or gunmetal.
Do I think both shades are pretty? Yes. Do I think you need to own both? No. Am I happy I own both? Yes. Am I crazy? Hell yes.
And finally, Untitled Black.
This is a glossy opaque black with secret shimmer.
I love it too.
But let me tell you a secret.
I know I spent years wearing nothing but black polish.
I love black polish so much that I wrote a love letter to it.
But lately, when I put black polish on, I end up going, “Hey… that’s dark.” And I end up reaching for an entirely different color.
Crazy how our taste in polish constantly changes.
But I took Untitled Black out of the gorgeous box a couple of days ago.
No other color seemed right since I was grieving the loss of a very good man. Some people wear their heart on their sleeve. I wear mine on my nails.

Why are you posting these nail polishes?!?! OMG you make me crave for these!!!
)) love it as expected!
Because they are lovely! Haha!
I think some of these colors are still available on the websites of US Department Stores
OHMG – you are SO wicked, I NEED this, I can feel it in every bone of my body – and OH the nails too
yes you need them!
I will be broke because of you! Pam naman!
So sorry for your loss also. I know what it feels like losing someone like that. *hgus*
Go go order!!!
Sigh, Kitty, last night was the last night of his wake (he was cremated today). Our office had a special tribute night for him at the funeral home and it was beautiful. Buti na lang I brought a big box of Kleenex.
Oh Pam….I’m so sorry to hear that a person you cared for passed away….I sure hope all the memories you’ve stored away in working with him, can give you comfort.
Now as to this collection…I think my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Seriously. It almost burns my eyes to look at your amazing swatches, as I know I can’t get my hands (and nails!) on these beauties….but I’m so happy that you did at least, and I can enjoy them vicariously through you! That thought makes me happy!
Eugenia, thanks so much. And yes, I will cherish those memories with him forever. He was really a wonderful man.
You must own these bottles! I wish I had some way to help you!
I would love to see you wearing them!
So sorry for your loss! That’s a really sweet text you’ve written about him, I bet it has been great working with such a kind person! Having caring and supporting bosses really makes a difference!
Up until now I thought I didn’t need this collection, but as soon as I saw you had done these swatches, I knew I’d change my mind… hell yeah, Ultraviolet, Electric Blue, Metallic Silver and Untitled Black! basically, all of them but Pink Graffiti – I really don’t wear pinks!
Last week they arrived in Brazil, but sold out right away… that’s a good thing, since I don’t have money for them right now! lol
I think I’ll be sticking to my plan… heheheh
x,
Thanks Carol! I feel very lucky that I had the chance to work with him – it’s been amazing to hear how many people’s lives he’s touched.
I hope you still manage to get your hands on these beauties – they’re really lovely!
Pammy, sorry to hear about your publisher
As for these Diors, I thought I didn’t want any, but I really want Pink Graffiti now! How does Ultra Violet compare to RBL Mismas?
Speaking of which, I emailed you re: fan collection. Check it out and let me know
Kat! Thank you!
I think the color of Mismas is more intense than Ultra Violet… And wait, e-mailing you back now
So sorry to hear about your loss and it’s wonderful to hear from you again!
Total love for this collection! The blue is unbelievably bright! How does Metallic Silver compare to Chanel Graphite or OPI’s Lucertainly Look Marvellous? They all seem to be in the category of glittery silver (wondering if I should get Metallic Slver given I have the other two…)
Thank you.
Chanel Graphite looks more silvery than Metallic Silver. Metallic Silver is darker. Yes I think the three are different enough to justify owning them all. I’ll do comparisons soon so you can see
