I’ve got bullets, lots of them.
• I’d like to thank Ji Baek of Rescue Beauty for the awesome feature on Rescue Beauty’s blog. I had so much fun answering her questions.

• Also, a-england’s Adina Bodana recently unveiled her follow-up to the brilliant The Mythicals Collection on our beloved Eugenia’s blog. Check out the holographic shades of The Legend on Ommorphia Beauty Bar. They are craaazy and I cannot wait to wear them all. Adina is currently accepting pre-orders. You can e-mail her at info@wonderwalluk.com and hello@a-england.co.uk. But if you live in the Philippines and don’t want to worry about shipping your bottles from London, Sol of Digital Traincase has plans of bringing these colors in too. You may pre-order through Digital Traincase’s Multiply page. And the best part? If you pre-order, you can get each bottle for ₱599. Regular price is ₱650.
• Digital Traincase is now selling Essie’s Luxe Effects Collection. These textured top coats look super pretty. Each bottle is ₱420.
• Digital Traincase also recently announced a pre-order of OPI’s Nicki Minaj Collection which I’m really excited about. If you missed the pre-order but would still like to give it a shot, check this page out.
• Let’s talk nail length for a second. How long are your nails now and how long (or short) do you really like them? If you’re a nail blogger, does your swatching length match the length you want to wear in real life? You’ve probably noticed in my recent swatches that my nails are longer than usual. But here’s the thing – while longer nails are perfect for swatching, I really love my nails when they’re short. There are times when it seems like no polish looks good on me and I start freaking out until I realize that the problem isn’t the polish, it’s my nail length. I usually end up cutting my nails to nubs, applying the polish again and loving it, even if I hated it just minutes ago on my longer nails. Yes, I love short nails and I’m not ashamed. But I was torn – should I keep my nails long for swatching or just swatch with short nails? Then I realized that there was an easy compromise. I will grow my nails long, swatch like crazy until I’m sure I have enough swatches until they grow again, cut my nails short and start the whole process again. Win win.
• And finally, let’s talk about the nail polish colors I’ve been obsessing over. They will be mine one day.
First, there’s Chanel Diwali which first made an appearance at the brand’s Paris-Bombay Métiers d’Art runway show.
These photos are from Chanel’s news blog and Vogue.fr.
Such a pretty soft wearable gold. I can’t wait to wear it.
Then there are the two colors from Dior’s Garden Party Collection for Spring 2012 – Waterlily and Forget-Me-Not. I need these babies.
And Dior’s Anselm Reyle Collaboration. Ultra Violet, Untitled Black, Metallic Silver, Electric Blue, Pink Graffiti.
Seriously, Dior! What is with you and your multiple releases? But I’m not complaining. I just need them all. Who needs to eat, right?
And finally, YSL’s new duos from the brand’s Candy Face Collection for Spring 2012.
No. 7.
And No. 8.
It’s long been my dream to own all of YSL’s duos. And if these are No. 7 and No. 8, that means I’m still missing three.
Whew. Okay, that’s it for now. Swatching will resume in 3, 2, 1…

Pam, I think your nails are always a great length when you show them in pictures, and you have beautiful cuticles and skin, too. I also prefer short nails — how else can one get anything done?? If I’m checking out new nail blogs, I get grossed out and will click away if I see “Dragon Lady” nails — you know what I mean, those ultra-long, downward-curving things that look like claws. Ugh! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Thanks so much Sue! So true, when my nails are long I end up scratching myself. And haha, I totally get what you mean about dragon lady nails! Scary!
Aaaaahhhh! New nail polishes from the brand I love! I need to get my hands on those YSLs, currently don’t have any from that brand yet! I think there’s no YSL nail polish here in PH? Dior’s Anselm Reyle Collaboration is gorgeous! Hope it will be available in Rustan’s soon! Love love love your blog Pam! More power to you!
YSL is gorgeous! And sadly, the brand is not available here
Mine have come from US and the Europe. Nordstrom, Saks and a lot of other sites carry the brand
And yes, I love the Anselm Reyle collection too, especially the brights! Keeping my fingers crossed they’ll arrive in Rustan’s soon, I’ll check
Thanks so much!
I’m not fond of long nails too. I don’t think I can get anything done with them. But I guess, to each is own.
It’s so sad that it takes a really long time for new collection to reach the Philippines. And buying online would have been great if not for 2 things — scary taxes and selective shipping.
‘love the Dior polishes! So bad for my pocket.
Happy New Year, Pam!
Rins! Happy New Year! You’re so lucky to have long nail beds – even when your nails are short you have good space for nail art
So true
I wish the collections didn’t arrive so late here
you might want to try johnny air for online shopping
it’s tatin’s secret weapon
I love the Dior polishes too!
beware lang when buying at nordstrom ha, i bough 3 polishes, they shipped it to johnny air, 3 times. one package, one bottle. ended up paying 2,400 for shipping alone. never again LOL
Craaaaazy!
That’s awful. Ako naman, Zoya sent me a package to Johnny Air. Tinanggihan nila. Kaloka di ba? Pero other than that, okay naman Johnny Air experience ko (na usually through Tats hehe) Sabi ni Tatin, now daw if your packages arrive on the same week, pinapagsama-sama na and one handling fee na
Just want to say I really love your blog. It’s a litte treat every time I find a new post in my reader. Polish police, spring and swatches of new polishes is just about what I need to get this year started
Hi Linna! Aww that’s so sweet
So happy you’re enjoying the blog
I personally prefer short nails over long ones for swatching. When I see super long and claw-like nails on blogs, I instantly navigate away from the site no matter how great it is because not only are those kind of nails gross, I also can’t relate to it. I read polish blogs to get a feel of how the polish looks on real hands, and I just can’t with nails that look like they belong to a villain
I’d really love the green Dior, but I’m a bit turned off by scented polishes ever since my bottle of Paul and Joe gave me a headache
Me too, when the nails are too long, I can’t imagine how the polish would look on my own nails. Haha, the villain bit made me LOL.
I love the green Dior too and I hope the scent isn’t crazy strong. I haven’t tried Paul and Joe yet. My bottles of Anna Sui from my friend Nikki are rose-scented but the scent isn’t strong enough to bother me
Yep, your blog is the best, I’m always excited when I see a new post from you. This was a fun behind the scenes kind of post:)
I love that your nails are short and chic like mine so I can see what the polish will really look like.
And you should try the Essie Luxeffects top coats… Definitely my favorite collection of classy glitters and I can’t stop layering them over every polish I put on!
Hi Kristi! Thanks so much, it makes me happy to know that you enjoy the blog
And good to know that there are a lot of women who like me who like short nails
Looking forward to trying Luxeffects soon – which one’s your favorite?
Hey Pam! Which colors did you choose from Adina’s new collection? The YSL shades are gorgeousssss hahahaha
Btw, not that my comment matters, but I prefer your shorter nails. I dunno, maybe it feels like a bit more you? Hahaha
Cathy, is it crazy that I plan to get them all? I did the same with Adina’s The Mythicals – I couldn’t help it, they’re all gorgeous!
And so glad you like my nails shorter
I do too, haha!
I was glancing quickly at your bullets here, and froze with the first one! WHAT?!! You were interviewed by Ji? I jumped over to her page to read the entire interview and I loved it! It’s simply perfect and so incredibly YOU!! Huge congrats, my friend — I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than you for this honour! I had that “proud momma” feeling!!! Lol! As to the Dior scented polishes, I picked them up last Thursday, and immediately swatched them – so curious about the scented part – and I was thrilled! They really smell nice and it’s so not overpowering at all! Bonus: Waterlily is to DIE for and a very close dupe to Chanel’s Jade (which I don’t have and most likely never will unless they re-release it). Today, I will hound my YSL counter to see if their new collection is in – the green/brown duo is calling my name!
Eugenia!!!
Aww, so sweet
And OMG, now I can’t wait for my new Diors (and YSLs)!
And thank you for unveiling Adina’s new shades, I’m so so so excited to wear them (and swatch them, of course!)
Big big big hug!
PS: I totally forgot to add: THANK YOU for the wonderful shout-out, Pam!! Adina’s will be receiving The Legend today…so exciting! I can’t wait for you to swatch these shades as I just know you will be doing them complete justice! Giant panda hugs! xox
