Jill spent a few weeks in Europe with her mom, exploring Italy, France and Greece.
A few days into her trip, while she was in Florence, she sent me a message saying she got me a bunch of bottles from Kiko.
I was excited. “Ooh, the nail board girls love Kiko!” I told her.
She was shopping with her mom when she spotted the Kiko store.
There are a number of them around Florence, she said.
In the store she went to, the salesgirl was a Filipina.
Jill said she was overwhelmed by the many shades available.
She sent me a photo of the ones she picked.
So pretty.
And today, they arrived home with her.
It’s awesome how she chose shades I would have picked myself.
These four colors are from Kiko’s regular line.
These two are from the Italian brand’s limited edition Frozen collection.

Jill had other surprises for me (and the surprises include foie gras which I cannot wait to eat).
She spotted Sephora in Athens.
And she went in to pick up a couple of Chanels for me.
None of the bottles they had on display were on my wish list, she said.
But a helpful Sephora girl opened the drawer and showed her what they had in stock.
She spotted Rose Confidentiel.
And Lotus Rouge.
And she grabbed them.
I was high on all these bottles and was trying to figure out which one to wear first but Jill wasn’t done with her surprises.
She had the biggest one waiting.
She handed me three super pretty super gold YSL boxes.
Oh my god, what are these? I asked.
I opened each box with trembling hands and the gorgeousness just took my breath away.
And here’s the funny thing – I had no idea these colors even existed.
How crazy is that?
I’m usually able to keep up to date with new releases but this one just managed to slip my radar.
This is Noirs Couleurs, YSL’s limited edition collection for A/W 2011.
Jill’s timing was perfect – the collection just came out in Europe.
And I am completely in love with it.
And how can I not be? Given my love for black polish and vampy shades, this collection feels like it was made for me.

This is Black Indigo (Noir Indigo).
Black Bronze (Noir Mordore).
And Black Lapis (Noir Lapis).
Insanely pretty.
Jill got these at Hondos Center in Athens.
She said she swatched the testers first and looked up the shades online when she returned to her hotel.
When she realized how gorgeous they were, she went back for them the next day.
She’s not obsessed with polish like I am but Jill sure acts like a serious polish addict.
Awesome huh?
Jill said the salesgirl who sold her the YSLs was funny. She was surprised when Jill said she was getting all three shades. She couldn’t stop thanking her.
I couldn’t stop thanking Jill either. What wonderful wonderful wonderful surprises.
And the YSL surprise was doubly special because Jill was also the one who got me my first YSL bottles.

Haha! I know! They amaze me! I was amazed when Jill said she swatched them on her nails first and checked swatches that night before going back the next day – mas pro pa siya sa akin! Knowing my propensity for impulse buying, if they were in front of me na, i would have gotten them without even checking haha!
