MUG SHOT: Majolica Majorca Swatchfest

July 14, 2011 by pam

My first brush with Majolica Majorca was polish-free.

Majolica Majorca, a Japanese cosmetics brand under the Shiseido company, is finally in Manila and they sent me the Fake Sleeping box which is all kinds of awesome.

fs1

The box itself was super cool. I love the fairy tale concept.

fs2

And you had to unfold a lot of flaps…

fs3

…to get to the goodies inside.

fs4

There was a pretty hourglass.

fs5

With little butterflies hiding inside.

fs6

And Aurora Tear Liners which promise to give you sparkly eyes.

fs7

And my favorite, Majoromantica.

fs8

Described as “a honey-sweet aphrodisiac from the forest,” this fragrance is just the right mix of fruity and floral. I love it.

fs9

My second brush with Majolica Majorca came in the form of what can only be described as a rain of polish.

mm1

All these colors are from Majolica Majorca’s Artistic Nails line.

mm2

There are three kinds of polish under the Artistic Nails line – Speedy and Glossy, Glow and Quick and Jewelling Line.

A lot of these shades can be worn on their own and some of them are for layering and nail art. The number of possible combinations are insane. I figured I’d show you the Speedy and Glossy shades first.

mm3

I can’t believe how cute these bottles are. I love their size – they’re perfect for women like me who never use up bottles of polish and who want a wide variety of shades.

mm4

The Speedy and Glossy shades are a mix of feminine and edgy colors.

mm5

This is BE113.

be113 - 2

I love that this soft beige looks a tad bit yellow on me – like banana ice cream.

be113 - 5

This creamy shade has a subtle gold shimmer.

be113 - 5

The formula was a little thick but that wasn’t a problem. I used three coats.

be113 - 4

This is BE218.

be218 - 1

BE218 is a peachy beige frost.

be218 - 4

I used three coats.

The formula was nice and smooth.

or213 - 5

I used two coats for this one.

or213 - 7

This is PK411.

pk411 - 1

What kind of pink is this? Rose? Carnation? Barbie?

pk411 - 3

I’m not sure. But I’m sure about one thing – it’s pretty.

pk412 - 4

The formula was great. I used two coats for this one.

pk412 - 7

Here is VI311, another one of my favorites.

vi311 - 1

Yes, it’s a crazy green apple polish.

gr714 - 2

Yes, it’s also one of my favorites.

gr714 - 3

And yes, I have too many favorites. I can’t help it. They’re awesome.

gr714 - 4

I love GR714 because of its fantastic formula (it’s a perfect two-coater).

gr714 - 5

And I love it because even though I have a ton of greens in my collection, I don’t have a lot of apple greens.

gr714 - 6

And now back to pink. This is PK400.

pk400 - 1

PK400 brings together the goodness of jelly and glitter.

pk400 - 3

I used three coats.

pk400 - 6

And that’s exactly what this is.

bk999 - 3

And so I love it.

bk999 - 4

Again, two coats.

This is the last polish I’m showing you today, GR615.

gr615 - 1

It’s a gorgeous deep green with blue shimmer. And yes, it’s also one of my favorites from this line.

gr615 - 2

This polish deserves a lot of love. It’s pretty pretty pretty.

gr615 - 3

I used two coats for this one.

gr615 - 7

I love that Majolica Majorca offers a mix of different finishes – shimmers, creams, jellies, glitter. And I love that their shades encourage you to be creative and play with them. They’re so much fun! And you’ll see exactly what I mean in my next Majolica Majorca swatchfest.

These products were sent to me by Luxasia Inc., Majolica Majorca’s Philippine distributor.

Each polish is available for ₱225. You can find Majolica Majorca at SM Department Stores (Makati, Megamall, North Edsa, Mall of Asia, Cubao, Fairview, Southmall) and Watsons (Fairview, Ayala Cebu, Mall of Asia). It will also be available in Marionnaud, SM Sta. Mesa Department Store and other Watsons branches (Megamall, Gateway, The Block, Market! Market! and Podium) this month. What a cute concept too, from the box to the names….I’m so bummed out that it’s not available in North America…..sad face……!!

    • pam says:

Let me know if you’d like me to pick up any of these shades for you! It will be a pleasure! :)

      • Eugenia says:

  5. Cathy says:

That is a rain of polish!! I am so inggit Pam! TO be showered with loooove! :)

Those are pretty pretty colors! And I love the packaging and the hourglass too! Sooo girly! ;)

The only sad thing about it is that they don’t have proper names. All letters and numbers hay :(

But I can totally get over that and try their polish :)

Have you tried their mascara? Best one I’ve ever tried so far. And their liners too! XD

    • pam says:

      Majolica is LOVE :D

I feel exactly the same way. I wish all these Asian brands would start giving their bottles real names! It would be much easier to identify and remember polish shades!

And I’ve heard great things about Majolica’s mascara. I haven’t tried it yet. Soon! :D

  6. Kitty says:

I didn’t see this when I was in Southmall last week. I must’ve had blinders on. I’ll check it when I’m there next week!

  7. Rosa says:

Gosh!!! Love the sand clock!!! TOO PRETTY!!!!!

Searching for Majorica Majorca until now, still couldn’t find it in Indonesia. Found it in Sgpore, Too bad they come in small sizes!

    • pam says:

Awww so sad that they don’t have it in Indonesia yet :(

I actually like the size.. I’ve never finished an entire bottle of polish before so it works for me :) And I think the small bottles are cute..

  8. Nail Nerd says:

Oh wow, those are beautiful, all so super saturated and shiny! Totally jealous :)

  9. greenpease says:

Hoarding mode! Love the Green 714!

Majoromantica is nice but it didn’t last on me when I tried it. sad!

  10. Setsuna says:

Thanks for posting this! I’ve been hesitating from buying Majolica Majorca nail polish just because the polish they have at SM Makati looks, I don’t know, old? I thought the formula would be thick and there would be application issues. Glad to know that’s not the case. So I went out and bought a few bottles. Can’t wait to play with them.

  11. cresca says:

the colors are cute even the bottles.I just think its overpriced for a teeny-weeny bottle hehehe…i wish they’d have a sale :)

    • pam says:

Hey Cresca! If you really like the color, I say go for it :) I don’t mind the bottle size because I’ve never used up a bottle of polish ever. And at the rate I’m going, I don’t think I will..

They do have mga promos once in a while – check out their FB page, maybe they’ll do a polish promo soon :D

  12. Fozzy says:

i like that the logo is embossed on the glass it’s sooo pretty!

  13. Cel says:

I like their pinks! I wonder how often do you change your nail polish?

    • pam says:

I agree, their pinks are lovely! <3

Ideally, I’d change twice a week but sometimes things get crazy busy that I end up sticking to one color :) The swatching I usually do on weekends.. :)

  14. Bianca L. says:

Pam, great post on Majolica Majorca goodies! :) What is the Majoromantica?

    • pam says:

Majoromantica is a fragrance. I love how it smells and how it isn’t sprayed but dabbed on.. It feels more romantic that way :)

  15. vylettekaye says:
