The day after I got Miss Bun’s awesome package, I had to leave for a two-day hotel vacay.
My friends and I didn’t want to go out of town for Holy Week so we stayed in the city and checked in at the Marriott so they could swim and I could hide under the covers all day.
I couldn’t bear to be away from my awesome package so I brought it with me. Yes, the whole thing.
And when I went down to the pool area for about ten minutes, I brought down some bottles so I could play with them.
Which ones?
The Bieber ones of course.

Here’s the funny thing – when Nicole by OPI first came out with their One Less Lonely Girl Collection, people kept telling me about it, waiting to see my reaction. And my reaction ranged from “Ew” to “I’m not touching that with a ten-foot pole.”

But this was pre-enlightenment, a time when I thought Justin Bieber sucked. Since then, the universe has conspired to make me like him and it succeeded. It was the killer combination of his pre-discovery YouTube videos, his albums, his book and, ultimately, Never Say Never the movie that opened my eyes and made me see that hey, this kid is talented. And he’s a hard worker. And he continues to inspire people to reach for their dreams. What is there to hate about that?
I’m thirty years old, I like Justin Bieber and I’m not ashamed. Friends still don’t believe me, some of them stare at me as if waiting for a punch line but it’s true. Yes, I like Justin Bieber and I couldn’t wait to play with his polish.

This is My Lifesaver.

It’s a pretty soft mint.

I love this color a lot – it might be my favorite out of the four I have.

Nicole by OPI is mighty proud of the brush that comes with this collection – they call it “perfect stroke.” It’s a short wide tapered brush and I have no problems with it. My nails are so small that with wide brushes, I normally just need one stroke and the entire area is covered.

The formula was okay – I had no problems with application.

This was two coats.

This collection will benefit Pencils of Promise – I just don’t know how much of the proceeds will go to the foundation.

This is Make U Smile over My Lifesaver.

I love this combination. Pretty pretty pretty.

Make U Smile is pretty silver glitter and larger hexagonal glitter in a clear base.

Application was easy, I didn’t have to stress over moving the glitter around. I just let the brush do its job.

This was one coat.

I love how well My Lifesaver and Make U Smile go together.

This is I’ve Got Bieber Fever.

It’s a dark plum with pink undertones.

It’s a nice vampy shade.

I think it would look great as a pedicure too.

The formula was nice too. I used two coats.

My only problem with Nicole by OPI is the bottle shape. I don’t get it. I don’t even know how to describe it.

Oh wait, I know. Alien head. Or duck butt.

It’s a good thing the polish inside makes up for the weirdness.

This is Step 2 The Beat of My ♥ over I’ve Got Bieber Fever.

Step 2 The Beat of My ♥ is pretty little glitter and purple, pink and red metallic holo heart glitter .

It’s pretty. And it makes me feel like a 13-year-old but let’s not go there.

This was one coat. The application for this was a bit different though.

Unlike with Make U Smile, you can’t just rely on the brush to work its magic, you have to make an effort to pick up the glitter with the brush and place it on your nail.

So your manicure isn’t just a manicure, it’s a fishing expedition for glittery little Justin Bieber hearts.

And that isn’t such a bad thing.
I’m watching his concert here in Manila on May 10 and since I can’t pick just one polish to wear, I will wear all of them together.
Thank you, Miss Bun, for taking my Bieber fever to another level and making me feel like a giggly school girl.
Document your Hong Kong concert adventure, please! I want to see your Bieber skittles.
