There’s something about Chanel nail polish that I find irresistible.
Which is pretty strange considering that I’m not a label junkie.
I spend more on books than bags. On travel rather than clothes. My idea of splurging on shoes is buying Doc Martens that are not on sale.
But Chanel polish? It’s love love love. Luxury in a tiny bottle.

And I am feeling the love for these two new shades.

Rouge Fatal and Rose Insolent.

You’re probably thinking – not another pink and red?

But I found these two pretty special.
First, Rose Insolent.

Chanel describes Rose Insolent as candy pink.

It’s pretty accurate.

Rose Insolent is a bright pink — a good break from the ugly/pretty colors I usually love wearing. This one is just pretty/pretty.

Like all the other Chanels I own, this one was super pigmented.

Serious opacity in one stroke.

And now, say hello to Rouge Fatal.

Chanel describes this as a brown red.

This is super super pigmented — even more pigmented than Rose Insolent. And it’s super glossy too.

I stressed over taking photos of this because I thought it looked way too brown on me.

But it’s not brown, it’s a sexy sexy sexy deep red.

I tried taking photos in different lighting conditions and I love how sophisticated it looks in every light.

I will rock this at the next big party I go to.

I love how these two shades are contrasting – one is sweet, the other is sexy. I love how I can feel like a girl or a woman, depending on which color I choose.
And that is the power of polish – just a few strokes can change your mood; one manicure has the magic to make a difference in the way you feel about yourself.
Chanel Rose Insolent, Rouge Fatal and Rose Confidentiel will be available at Rustan’s counters starting this weekend.

I knew I had bottles headed my way but I didn’t expect them all to arrive on the same day.
At the end of the night, it was like polish had rained on me.
Not that I’m complaining.
First there were the goodies from Rustan’s – Chanel Rouge Fatale and Rose Insolent which will be available this weekend in Rustan’s (swatches to be posted very very soon) and a bottle of Nars Mash, which is part of the Nars Vintage Collection which will hit counters on October 1.
And then the bottle of Orly Shine which I got with the rest of my office mail.
And then James went to the office armed with my goodies from New York – my first bottles of Rescue Beauty Lounge (thank you Ji for taking care of my order and packing the bottles with love!), six bottles of American Apparel polish (James has a cute American Apparel story – but I’ll write about it when I post more about these babies) and Disney Princess Silly Bandz (yes, I am a child).
And then, hours later, when I got into the car to go home, I found bottles of Zoya from OrganicRituals.
So yes, polish overload.
And that is why I spent Friday confused and not knowing which bottles to play with first.

Dear China Glaze Flying Dragon,

You drive me crazy. You really do.
I had seen countless swatches of you and love how insanely purple you were so I ordered you.
When you arrived, dude, you looked nothing like all those swatches I saw. You’re like a bad internet date – the kind who posts ancient pics in hopes of reeling someone in. You were different, so different, on the internet.
Still, I gave you a chance, the kind of chance I wouldn’t have given a bad internet date. Sure you weren’t the insane purple I was expecting but you were pretty in a pinkish-purple kind of way and you had an extra sparkle, thanks to your pink and blue glitter.
I painted you on my nails and you dried matte.

Matte… but pretty.

And you were still pretty with flash. A little more pink but still pretty.

But I knew you could be prettier.
So I let you tango with my friend Seche Vite.

And oh my god, Flying Dragon, you took my breath away.

You seriously took my breath away like no bad internet date can.

And you also kind of blinded me with your brightness and gloss.
But that’s okay. Because I love you.
Love,
Pam

I can’t believe I found out about Eyeko only late last year when it’s been spreading makeup love all over the world for a decade now.
Born in London and inspired by Tokyo cuteness, Eyeko offers all kinds of prettiness – from the Magic Mascara to the beloved Fat Balms that will be relaunched soon.
But I love Eyeko the most for their nail polish line. The colors are fun and their formula is big 3 free.

I’ve had these bottles for quite a while and I’m glad I finally got around to swatching them because I love them.
Yes, every single one of them.

I did a quick Eyeko skittles manicure and repeatedly resisted the urge to kick myself for putting this off for so long because these colors are lovely.

Yes they are lovely and you should know about them.

First there’s Lilac Polish, “for lovely nails.”

Well yeah, I do think it’s lovely. I don’t have too many lilac shades in my collection and this is making me regret it. Lilac Polish is something I can totally see myself wearing.

Then there’s Vintage Polish, “for elegant nails.”

I’m not sure I would call this shade elegant but I love it. It’s in the same color family as other shades I love – China Glaze For Audrey, Diamond Cosmetics Oh, Tiff! and even Revlon Minted. This was two coats and it dried glossy.
Cosmic Polish is another Eyeko polish I love. It’s a glossy black with iridescent glitter.

Cosmic is supposedly “for space age nails” and I can totally see myself wearing this on a trip to the moon.
Next there’s Indigo Polish – a deep shimmery blue that doesn’t turn black like other deep blues do after several coats. This was glossy and gorgeous with zero application issues.

Then there’s Purple Polish which is “for electric nails.” They weren’t kidding about it being electric. This color is bright – almost a neon purple. And, like other neons, it dries matte. It bubbled a little on me but I can only blame my application. The last time I used this as a full mani, I had no problems with the formula. I must try this again soon.

These aren’t Eyeko’s only nail polish shades.
The shades in their new batch of Polish Must Haves look awesome too.
The nail polish sets are currently on sale at 20% off.
Order Eyeko Nail Polish Cult Classics HERE. Or check out all their available polish shades HERE. And find other Eyeko goodies HERE.
Eyeko offers free shipping within the UK and Europe and free shipping for international orders over $55. Otherwise, shipping is $7.50.
And they have a special offer this week – if your order costs over $15, type the word “INDIGO” in the special comments box at checkout and you’ll get a free bottle of Indigo Polish with your goodies.

There are great things coming our way these next few months and I am happy to report that a lot of them will be within reach, thanks to Rustan’s.
CHANEL
Chanel has announced the Fall release of Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss, a new limited edition lip gloss that comes in these shades: Insouciance (nude), Confidence (rose), Genie (coral), Emoi (raspberry), Imaginaire(fresh pink), Insolence (candy pink), Exces (red), Fatale (brown red) and Impertinence (chocolate).
Chanel has launched three nail colors with the lip gloss – Rouge Fatal (brown red), Rose Insolent (candy pink)and Rose Confidentiel (rose).
Here’s a model wearing Rose Insolent.

And here’s a sexy bottle photo of Rouge Fatal.

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss and the new nail colors will be available in Rustan’s in September. Nail colors are P1350 each.
ESSIE
If, like me, you are going nuts over Essie’s Sew Psyched, this next bit is for you. Rustan’s will be bringing in Essie’s Fall Collection which was inspired by the fall collections of Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors. Today I have bottle pics for you.
Limited Addiction (hot red):

Velvet Voyeur (decadently dark amethyst):

Little Brown Dress (black coffee):

In Stitches (cheeky blush pink):

Merino Cool (mulberry purple):

And the one I’ve been super excited for – Sew Psyched (pewter sage):

This collection will also be available in Rustan’s in September.
NARS
Here’s where it gets extra-exciting.
I’m sure you’ve heard/seen/read people go crazy over the long wait for the return of Nars Zulu, the deep green jelly that countless women all over the world have been lemming for.
The wait will soon be over and here’s the awesome part – you don’t have to bug friends and relatives abroad to grab a bottle for you before they all disappear. Rustan’s will be bringing in Nars Zulu later this year.
And it just gets better – you won’t just be able to get your hands on Zulu, Rustan’s will be bringing in the entire Limited Edition Fall Vintage Collection.

Look at all those pretty colors.
You will soon be able to get your hands on these old nail polish hits from the archives of Nars.
Here’s a list of the shades along with the movies that inspired them:
Mash (army green infused with gold). The comedy about the staff of a Korean War field hospital using humor to keep their sanity in the face of war. The film inspired the TV series M*A*S*H.
King Kong (copper brown infused with gold). A classic movie about the infamous giant ape who becomes smitten with beauty.
Midnight Express (deep navy). The 1970s film for an inmate’s opportunity to escape from prison.
Zulu (forest green). A British war movie starring Stanley Baker and Michael Caine, directed by Cy Endfield in 1964.
Full Metal Jacket (gunmetal grey). An epic Vietnam War movie directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1987.
I want them all. Do you?
This collection will be available in Rustan’s in October.
